For Mountain bikers Only 20 minutes from Dalegarth Guesthouse by car there is a superb mountain bike centre at Whinlatter Pass. Great challenging trails, bike rental and wonderful Siskins Cafe and Forestry Commission Visitor Centre.

Honister Slate Quarry only 5 minutes drive from our house by car or bus has undergone a transformation in recent years. It is now a fully fledged tourist attraction. You can buy all sorts of slate gifts and signs and even "Fill Ya Boot with slate for £20. There are mine tours, Zip rides and even a Via Ferrata for those who dont have vertigo.

Glaramara at the other side of Honister pass in the Borrodale valley makes a great day out for all the Family offering Activity days Canoeing, Gorge Walking, Abseiling, Archery, Caving, Orienteering, Rock Climbing and more.
